Palmer Event Center
900 BARTON SPRINGS | AUSTIN, TEXAS 78704

The Palmer Events Center has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, the Austin Convention Center Department has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention for the facility.

The Palmer Events Center (PEC) actually dates back to 1940 when the City of Austin purchased an airplane hangar on the south shores of Town Lake. The hangar was then converted into an all-purpose City Coliseum that opened to the public in 1949. Approval from voters for a whole new structure, the Lester E. Palmer Events Center, went through in the 1998 bond election. This vote brought to life what many know today as the PEC.

Unofficial Vendor Warning

FORMNEXT FORUM: AUSTIN is in receipt of reports from exhibitors who have been solicited through various third parties to book hotel reservations in AUSTIN. FF:A is NOT working with a third party housing company, and the only way to book a reservation through our room block is by contacting the hotels directly. They do NOT reach out to individual companies.

Additionally, numerous convention bureaus are reporting hundreds of complaints from trade show managers who are receiving similar reports from exhibiting companies who booked rooms through a “third party room broker” and ended up at sold out hotels with no reservations and no recourse for the payment of rooms. These brokers falsely imply they are affiliated with show management and secure deposits and/or full prepayment from exhibiting companies.
